Welding technique used to join a plastic component with another part that may or may not be plastic by melting a boss on the plastic component into a selected shape around the secondary component. Pressure is made on the plastic boss through a heated element (Heat Stake) and cold air is then blown onto the boss to solidify it and ensure a proper union between both components.
